Susan Noble was born in south London in 1943. She was educated at Croydon High Girls Schools and graduated from Somerville College, Oxford, with an Honours degree in English.
Between 1965 and 1974 she wrote a large number of poems, a selection of which were published after her death in 1974 as A Dream of Stairs.
The revised and expanded edition of A Dream of Stairs, which is to be published on 27 June 2013 to mark the 70th anniversary of her death, will contain many poems never previously published.
All proceeds from A Dream of Stairs are to be donated to Mind, the mental health charity.
